Colin Arlen asked me to write this bio for him. I’m pretty sure that’s because he never learned how to read or write. Surprisingly enough though the kid knows how to hold a camera and ride a bike pretty well. He skated in Sacramento growing up and made some videos with Colby. The thing that’s always kind of blew my mind about Macaframa is that before this, Colin had only made pretty standard kid-with-a-camera skate vids, and super low production value, moderately embarrassing student films. Then out of nowhere Macaframa came out and it looks like it cost about a billion dollars to make and was created by a team of vastly overpaid Hollywood professionals. He taught himself how to make films through meticulous study of process and technique and equipment, and he taught himself how to ride through commitment and a shitload of practice. I suppose those two things mirror his general approach towards life. When he is passionate about something, he will grind his fingers to the bone to be as good at it as he possibly can. I think that makes him a pretty good guy across the board.
